PIA dont want to sell tickets online - Issue amazed everyone

PIA fly weekly from Oslo, Norway to Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi separately, you can confirm these flight from all airports of Pakistan and even Oslo airport but if you will visit PIA website and try to book tickets for this flight you will not able to find Oslo in the departure list of PIA, clearly showing that you cannot book flights from Oslo to Pakistan and these 3 flights are utilizing zero percent internet facility from the country where 90% people use internet to make airline bookings. I don’t know whether PIA want to turn this route full of losses or its another mistake.

PIA also fly from oslo to karachi weekly but....

 You can not book while coming back from oslo but thanks to PIA It allow you to book when you are going from Pakistan :-P
I assumed that Oslo-Pakistan route to be only one facing this issue but when I tried to search some other routes my eyes started popping out and mind started to say “Now I know why PIA always post losses each year”. PIA fly daily from Islamabad to Gilgit, 7 flights per week and Chitral Twice a week but result is same you will not be able to find Gilgit or Chitral in list of arrival or departure for PIA’s website.

Role of internet on modern world and businesses practices is visible to all living in twentieth century but for Airline Company it work as aorta. I don’t know whether PIA leadership is unaware or busy in other things. I have a strong doubt that PIA management does not believe in youth and therefore sometimes think PIA don’t want to utilize talented IT experts of Pakistan for their small issues. Problems with PIA’s website, online ticketing and pricing can form long list but first, i want to share some facts, according to latest data 56% of people flying from middle easy buy tickets from company’s website and 76% book ticket from website of the company while paying through travel agents. This ratio increase to 90% to 99% in Europe and USA.

 While story of PIA is more than epic, apart from website which do not allow you to find anything latest or useful and cease top ticketing websites of world including cheapoair, momondo and kayak to show pia tickets, showing most of the advertisement and routes that are not operational and you will not be able to search even one way ticket easily and if you will move back to some previous page you have to fill all data again, I was still hopeful but thing which made to write this article was more than shocking or you can embarrassing.

PIA’s website have many other shortcoming which I was not able to find because these two havocs stopped me to assume PIA as next top airline of the world and supposed useless to waste more time PIA’s website. Although still I considered duty to inform management of PIA and wrote this article with the hope that it may work as I think PIA fail to compete other airlines because of these negligent practices and someone must take its notice.
